Windsor Home Prices Could Rise 9% in 2020

Windsor Home Prices Could Rise 9% in 2020

Windsor home prices continued to go up in 2019, increasing by 11% compared to last year, and according to a new report that trend is expected to continue.

In their Canadian housing market outlook for 2020, RE/MAX has stated that they believe housing prices in Windsor and Essex County will go up as much as 9% in 2020 as this real estate market in this region remains hot. Windsor’s increasing population, relatively affordable houses and the low number of available listings are among the reasons why it is believed that prices will continue to go up.

Windsor remains an attractive market for out-of-town buyers, including investors and young professionals looking for an affordable alternative to cities like Toronto. With housing prices also expected to go up throughout Southern Ontario, even with this increase the average price of a home in Windsor is expected to remain lower than many other cities in the province.

While Essex County remains attractive for many out-of-town buyers, residents of Windsor and Essex County are becoming increasingly concerned that the increased housing prices will keep them out of the market entirely.
